In order to get better at soldering I practiced on a kit from Amazon, which has all the parts to assemble a clock on a circuit board. The clock would run on military time.
After assembling it and soldering the parts together for the first time I faced an issue. Two parts of my display were not working at all, as well as two whole digits. It worked eventually, but it took some troubleshooting.
First, I realized that I needed jumper connectors in a part of the circuit that I missed, and then proceeded to realize that I forgot to include the capacitor into the circuit. While the latter didn’t alter the result significantly, both changes together made it work. I’m proud of how it turned out!
