Ever since starting Technical Theater at my school, I’ve been more interested in carpentry; even to the extent of buying a jigsaw and practicing building things at home. Since I’m also very interested in gardening, I decided that I should build a raised planter for roses, with a shelf below for storing some of my gardening tools. The design was inspired by a product at home depot which I really liked, but found to be too expensive for my budget. The end result turned out better than I thought!
I began by creating a blueprint, which is illustrated below.
What came after was the easy part, which was made up of measuring and cutting the wood. I then attached all the parts together with a screwdriver, and stained the wood a dark brown color, which matched the red roses that I picked out very well.
