This project was a follow up of another bot made a couple of months ago that used the same mechanics. The old version had many flaws, such as an irreplaceable battery, which was why it had a short lifespan. (just like a bug) The BeetleBot would improve upon those things, also a adding a nice little feature – glowing eyes.

The main mechanic of the beetle bot is moving around and vibrating with its body. This can be achieved by using a de-centered motor, made using a motor and an unevenly distributed weight on its rotating mechanism.
Here are the materials that were used in the creation of BeetleBot:
- AAA battery holder
- Two AAA batteries
- De-centered motor
- Two green LEDs
- Bendable wire (wings)
- One pin terminals (for the legs)
- Switch

This was a very successful project which improved upon the mechanism used in the previous one. The wings were added as a final touch to the overall design, allowing to picture it more like an insect. Beetle Bot’s construction modified the charging process, and added key features such as glowing eyes, and more powerful vibrations allowing it to move around much more.
