The Scratch it up competition piloted in the season of 2019 – 2020. When participating, the team of two had to create a functional videogame in 60 minutes.

Guidelines
When submitting a game for the competition, it had to follow many criteria and guidelines in order to be qualified to enter. Here are the official rules
- Point System – the game must have point system.
- The point system or scoreboard must be visible
- The user will use points in at least two different increments
- A sound effect must be played when a character looses or earns points
- A User Controlled Character
- Must have at least 2 costume changes during gameplay
- Must be able to move on its own during gameplay
- Must be controlled with a keyboard or mouse
- A non-Player Controlled Character (NPC)
- Must have at lest 2 costume changes.
- Must be able to move on its own during gameplay
- Background
- The “Stage” must have at least 2 backdrop changes during gameplay
- Each background must have its own looping sound
- The game should have a timer where the game play must end between 2-3 minutes
- Instructions – The game must contain clear and informative in game instructions relevant to all ages and skill levels
- Start Menu and Restart
- The menu will have the name of the game and start button
- There must be a restart button that when selected the scoreboard, timer and characters to return to their initial status or positions.
